For the umpteenth time, an accident happened with a shoprider. Medicasco has long been known for its shoprider sales. But lately, a shoprider has been less popular in the news.

Alcohol plays a major role in this. We cannot deny that there is a big alcohol problem in Medicasco. There is a drinking culture in Medicasco, but this seems to have gotten out of hand in recent years. More and more accidents are happening with shopriders because they are driven drunk. This has to change!

SUNDAY NIGHT

Last weekend, there was another serious accident with a shoprider. This was the last straw. A 55 year old man named Dirk was spotted on Sunday night in the well-known bar "Las-Caux". He was ordering a few metres of beer with a friend. Unfortunately, he also had to admit that this was "Cara Pils".

After a few hours, he was spotted drunk on the main market square. He was all alone and shouted the following sentence: "Cara Pils is the liberation of our society". Many people found this very bizarre and called the police. Unfortunately, the police came too late. Dirk was gone with a stolen shoprider.

A TRAGEDY

Stumbling drunk, he drove recklessly on the streets that led to his house. Until he passed the local secondary school. There was a theme night for the final-year students and it ended at midnight. When Dirk passed, there were unfortunately 20 students outside on the street. Unfortunately, he drove stupidly into this group of students. 7 of the 20 students were killed. 9 students are still in danger. This is a very regrettable event. We join several Medicasco residents in pleading for zero tolerance of drunk driving. Together we can ensure that these events do not happen again in the future.
